Asia-Pacific Weeks 2007 - Urban Transport and Mobility
On 12th - 13th September 2007, the FAV organised the "Urban Transport and Mobility" conference, under the umbrella of the 6th Asia-Pacific Weeks 2007 in Berlin. 30 high ranking speakers from China, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Germany exchanged experiences and best practises about transport and mobility in Asian and German urban areas. The topics focussed by high level speakers from universities, industry/SME's, and consultants, aimed at current and future developments in the four areas sustainable transport and mobility, accessibility, telematics and aerospace. More than 80 participants contributed to comprehensive and in-depth discussions in a plenary session and four workshops during the two days. The conference encouraged the identification of future cooperation and projects between Asia and Europe, and enabled the contact building and deepening.
The Asia-Pacific Weeks (APW) are an initiative of the Mayor of Berlin
and take place every two years. This regular event creates a platform
for political, economical, cultural and scientific exchange with partner
countries in the Asia-Pacific region and demonstrate Berlin's function
as "Gateway to Asia". During their tenth anniversary, the APW
2007 are dedicated to the influences of the Asia-Pacific region on the
western world, especially the change in metropolitan areas.
